Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Book Club

Book selections for 2022.

About the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Book Club

Started in October 2022, the CLTCC DEI Book Club is a mix of faculty and staff from the Alexandria Campus, created for the purposes of reading and discussing nonfiction/fiction books centered around DEI themes such as: ageism, racism, sexuality, environmentalism, and other "isms." Because this is a DEI-centered book club, and we believe in free access to information and intellectual freedom, we have a no book ban policy.

Book club members read and discuss one book per month. Books are selected by book club members, with reading order determined by a voting process. Meetings are held the first Monday of the month in the CLTCC Library from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.

By creating this book club, we hope to have an open and honest dialogue about social and cultural issues though our shared love of books.

At the end of each month, the previous month's book will be donated to the CLTCC Library and will be made available for check out.
