This guide provides information for how to access the library's resources off-campus.

Use the Library from Home

The Central Louisiana Technical Community College Library and Learning Resource Centers provide resources and services to support the mission of CLTCC. Off-campus access to article databases, books, and personal assistance is available largely online. If you have any questions, please contact the librarian at: dvaughntucker@cltcc.edu.

Online Access: Two Ways

  • Library Website
    • The library homepage is the starting point for all of your research.
    • You will need your LoLA username and password to access the databases.
  • Canvas
    • Once logged into Canvas, scroll down to the CLTCC Library link, you will be prompted to open a new tab. You are now on the library's homepage.
    • You will need your LoLA username and password to access the databases.

Finding Articles

  • The link to Databases A-Z on the library website provides a list of over 90 databases, many of which provide peer-reviewed articles.
  • Our Subject Guides are useful for finding the best information on your topic. To find the Subject Guides, scroll down to the bottom of the library's homepage.
  • The Periodicals Listings by Subject link may also be useful if you're searching for a specific periodical on a specific topic.
  • For detailed tutorials, consult the Library Orientation LibGuide.
  • If you don't find the full-text of the specific article you are searching for, contact the librarian at dvaughntucker@cltcc.edu.

Finding Books

  • The CLTCC Catalog lets users search material that is actually held by the CLTCC Library.
  • E-books are fully accessible off-campus and can be downloaded to just about any device. In most cases, you will click on the hyperlink and will be taken to the e-book.
  • You will need your LoLA username and password to download e-books.

Services

  • Research Assistance is available online via email. Hours and email information can be found on the library's homepage. The librarian will help you anytime during library hours posted on the CLTCC Library website
