Alma - Library Services Platform developed by Ex Libris. It's a cloud-based system that integrates various functionalities for library management, including acquisitions, cataloging, and circulation.
Acquisitions - refers to the process of selecting and obtaining library resources. The acquisitions or collection development librarian also reviews book requests and places orders for new library materials.
Bibliographic Record - an entry in the library catalog which represents and describes a specific resources.
Cataloging - refers to the process of creating and maintaining bibliographic and authority records in a library catalog, which is a database of materials owned by the library, such as books, serials, and e-resources.
Circulation - refers to the process involved in lending materials to library patrons, including checking out, returning, and managing library resources.
Discovery - feature that allows a patron to find records and inventory from the Alma Repository. Primo is Ex Libris' discovery system.
Library Catalog - s systematic and organized listing of all the materials available in a library, designed to help users locate and access resources efficiently.
Library Services Platform (LSP) - An LSP is an all-in-one software solution that integrates various functions like cataloging and user services into a seamless, customizable platform.
