Introduction

After 25 years with the same library services platform (LSP), LOUIS (the consortium of public and private college and university libraries to which the CLTCC Library belongs) is excited to announce that we've selected Ex Libris Alma/Primo VE as the new LSP to replace the existing library catalog, discovery layer, and resource sharing tool. This move comes at the end of a three-year technology assessment as well as an 18-month planning process and will significantly modernize our aging infrastructure. A working group of 17 library faculty and staff representing all member institutions played a key role in this decision. Launching in August 2025 is strategically timed; lower library usage during that period will facilitate thorough staff training, data migration, workflow redesign, and system testing, ensuring a smooth transition before the fall semester. Students, staff, and faculty will be notified of all scheduled disruptions of service via Facebook and email. Unscheduled disruptions will be announced as soon as possible.
